Run a Search

Three tab options are available from the landing page:

  • Simple Search
  • Advanced Search
  • Browse Publications

     

    Simple Search:

    • Enter your term(s) in the search box, e.g. Space exploration
    • Click Limit Search: Full Text Only check box to find only articles with full text available
    • Click Limit Search: Video Only check box to find only media records with video available
    • Click Search

    By default, search results are ranked in order of relevance and shown in brief view

    • Use the Sort by drop-down list to change your sort option: Sort by RelevanceSort by NewestSort by OldestSort by Publication,Sort by Database
    • Use the View drop-down list to select your view option: Brief ViewAbstract viewRecord view

     

    Advanced Search:

    • Click Advanced Search tab
    • Enter your term(s) in the first search box, e.g. Space exploration
    • Select a field to search from the drop-down list [All Fields is default]
    • Select type of term search from the drop-down list:
      • All terms [default] combines terms using AND operator
      • Exact phrase finds records with that exact phrase
      • Any term combines terms using OR operator
    • Click AND selection box to select a Boolean operator [AND, OR, NOT] to combine your first term(s) with a second term(s)
    • Click +Add a row to add more search boxes [maximum of five terms]
    • Click Limit Search: Full text only check box to find only articles with full text available
    • Click Limit Search: Video only check box to find only media records with video available
    • Select type of record from the Type drop-down list [All types is default]
    • Select Year range from drop-down list to limit to year(s) of publication [any year (-) is default]
    • Click Search
