Music educators do a lot of 'reaching out' but, it might be argued, have less time for 'reaching in'. The conference program had a great deal to do with 'reaching in and reaching out' and as such provided opportunities for challenging and stimulating presentations some of which provoked strong 'for' and 'against' reactions.
