CAUTHE 2011: National Conference: Tourism; Creating a Brilliant Blend

Welcome to the Council for Australian University Tourism and Hospitality Education (CAUTHE) 21st conference held in Adelaide in February 2011.

The conference theme 'Tourism: Creating a Brilliant Blend', made a conscious attempt to create a link with the environment and tourism products of the host state. Use of the term ‘brilliant’ makes possible a focus on striving for excellence and visibility. The notion of a ‘brilliant blend’ has implications for the produce and service mix that is needed to make destinations successful and to achieve optimum tourist experiences for different types of tourists.

The conference highlights included keynote speakers, plenary and concurrent sessions (which were held in the Hawke Building at the University of SA), with an afternoon of concurrent sessions at six wineries in the Adelaide Hills.

I would like to sincerely thank all who have contributed to this conference - fellow committee members, keynote speakers, sponsors, conference organisers, students and delegates! Your support is very much appreciated.
